About Us

We are truly committed to making a difference and preserving the natural balance in nature along the Garden Route.

Snares are thin wire nooses that are set to trap animals - an extremely prmitive design meant to cause death of an animal through strangulation or decapitation. Animals caught in snares often die lingering and horrific deaths. Those fortunate enough to escape from a snare, spend the remainder of their days in unimaginable agony, often with the wire noose still embedded in their neck or limb, cutting it to the bone. Snares are indiscriminate and cruel, often killing dogs, cats, sheep and other domestic animals.

We patrol thousands of hectares of bush on foot, as it is the only effective means of locating and removing wire snares and other traps. Before removing a snare, we make a note of the location of the snare and we photograph the device. Snares that have been removed are displayed at local exhibitions twice a year.

Our clients include farmers, game farms, game reserves and nature conservation areas that may be state-owned or privately owned. The nominal fees that we charge for our services pay for the physical labour involved in locating and removing snares and are also utilised to purchase the equipment and supplies that we need to effectively de-snare an area - hats, hydration packs, first aid kits, snake bite kits, protective gloves, wire cutters adn the like.
